We’re in the middle of a minor injury crisis at the moment, with Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain adding to our already lengthy list of absentees (via Arsenal.com). Arsene Wenger has some serious decisions to make ahead of this weekend’s clash with Swansea, but who will he pick to replace the injured pair?
We’ve discounted some options because we just can’t see the manager going for them, like plucking Santi Cazorla out of midfield and putting him back on the wing. It would totally throw off the team’s balance, so fingers crossed Wenger agrees with us.
With that in mind, here are five options we believe are available to Wenger this weekend:
5) Joel Campbell on the right
Whether it’s the best option or not, this seems the most likely outcome. Joel Campbell is the most experienced injury free player we have in the vacant position (which isn’t say much), and that will certainly work in his favour. He put plenty of effort in against Sheffield Wednesday, but there was a distinct lack of quality. These next few games could be his last chance to prove himself, as so far he hasn’t looked like making the grade.
