Hector Bellerin has become a real fan favourite at Arsenal, but has also ben recognised for his contributions on an international scale. The young Spaniard has scooped the Catalan Young Player of the Year award back in Spain, beating out his competition easily, as reported by the Metro.
The young right-back has been superb since breaking into the first team last season, and has gone from strength to strength over the last year. The Catalan Football Federation (FCF) announced the 20-year-old as the award winner, with Bellerin obliterating his competition by earning a massive 57% of the votes.
Espanyol goalkeeper Pau Lopez and Lazio striker Keita Balde finished second and third respectively, each earning 30% and 13% of the votes.
Bellerin is more than deserving of the award, as despite his tender age, he has shown himself more than capable of competing against some of the top talents in football.
He’s been keeping Mathieu Debuchy out of the side ever since the Frenchman returned from injury, and doesn’t look like easing his grip on a starting spot.
