Branislav Ivanovic has inadvertently admitted that Petr Cech is better than both Thibaut Courtois and Asmir Begovic, claiming the Czech international is the best keeper he’s ever worked with, as reported by Serbian publication Novosti (via the Metro).
“For me he is a pillar and an icon of Chelsea, in my opinion he is the best goalkeeper with whom I have worked,” he said.
Cech being better than Begovic is certainly no surprise, and there are few who would argue otherwise. Courtois has been highly praised since nailing down a starting spot for Chelsea however, and a huge number of Blues fans believe he is now among the best in the world, never mind the Premier League.
To hear a Chelsea player admit that the Arsenal shot-stopper is better than the Belgian says a lot though, and shows just what a quality player we have on our hands. Cech has already more than justified his transfer fee with his performances this season, and has proven an absolutely phenomenal acquisition.

He still has plenty of good years in him too, so will continue making Courtois look average for seasons to come – making Chelsea fans wish they’d never sold him to Arsenal in the process.
