Alexis Sanchez has looked jaded recently, and after a glut of goals that looked set to really get him going this season, he’s struggled to really assert himself on games. Arsene Wenger suggests the Chilean needs to be monitored carefully, and after a busy season needs to be put on a separate training regime with different exercises, as reported by London24.
The 26-year-old enjoyed a phenomenal debut season at the Emirates, but after putting in a huge amount of effort to guide Chile to the Copa America over the summer he has understandably looked a little burnt out this season. He arguably wasn’t given enough time to recuperate, and it’s showing now.
Arsene Wenger suggests it’s hard to stop Alexis from working hard, but it’s something that has to be done to protect him.
“Alexis will be treated with caution,” he is quoted as saying.
“He is eager to play and demanded the maximum in training.
“We don’t want to get him exhausted or demand too much so he will do some different exercises.”

It would be a real blow were Alexis to suffer an injury this season, especially given the absences we have in other areas of the pitch. His work-rate and attitude is of huge importance to the team, and we really can’t afford for him to miss a considerable chunk of the campaign.
Arsenal transfer news
Hopefully he understands that moderating his training levels and playing time is for his own good, and we just want to see him back to his best as soon as possible.
