Lucas Moura is the latest player on the Arsenal radar, and Arsene Wenger is apparently looking to make an offer in excess of £30m for the Brazilian, according to French publication Buzz Sport (via the Metro).
The 23-year-old has been in and out of the PSG team ever since he arrived, and has struggled to meet his massive potential. He was signed for an undisclosed – although thought to be hefty – transfer fee, and has so far failed to live up to the hype.
He is still a player of unquestionably quality though, and at such a young age has his best years ahead of him.
We really lack top quality wide players, with Arsene Wenger more often than not deploying a more centrally minded player on the flanks. Having Alexis Sanchez on one side and Lucas Moura on the other would give us real directness and blistering pace out wide.
PSG have continued signing players in Moura’s position, with Angel Di Maria the latest arrival. The Brazilian can’t be happy with a bit part role in the team, and could therefore be open to an Emirates switch.
The report suggests we will wait until the summer to make our move, but with the January transfer window approaching, why should we? The nature of the Premier League this season means it’s anybody’s to win, and Moura could help us clinch it.

Arsenal transfer news
Wenger needs to accept that quality costs money, and this January is the perfect time to flex his financial muscles. He was willing to spend big on Mesut Özil and Alexis Sanchez, but would he take a risk on Lucas Moura?
