Arsene Wenger has added another name to his scouting team, luring Leicester City’s “top” scout Ben Wrigglesworth to the Emirates, as reported by the Mirror.
Arsenal fans will obviously be hoping for more player transfers this January rather than just staff, but the acquisition of Leicester’s head of technical scouting could potentially help that.
Wrigglesworth was responsible for the signing of Riyad Mahrez and N’Golo Kante, both of whom have been booming successes with the Foxes. It would be great to see hidden gems like them arrive at the Emirates, especially if we can secure their services for such nominal fees.
Leicester have obviously done a good job where recruitment is concerned over the last few seasons, and risky signings such as Mahrez and Jamie Vardy have allowed them to fire themselves up the table and challenge for the Premier League.
This time last season very few people would have believed Leicester would be joint top of the Premier League with less than half a season to go. The quality they’ve got in their ranks has allowed them to do just that though, and despite everyone waiting for them to fade away, they’ve remained strong.

Wrigglesworth may not be the man we all want to see arrive at the Emirates, but long-term he could help us strengthen and identify some diamonds in the rough.
