Chelsea summer signing Pedro recently did an interview with the club’s official website, in which he claimed Alexis Sanchez was among the most skilful players he’s ever played with.
The Spaniard was asked who the most skilful player outside of Chelsea he’d ever played with or against was, and his answer was fairly predictably Lionel Messi. He compared a number of other players to the Argentine wizard though, including his former Barcelona teammate Neymar and Arsenal talisman Alexis Sanchez.
“As everyone will be expecting, my answer is Lionel Messi,” he said.
“It is just that he is very ambitious about wanting to be the best. Also Neymar as they both have very fast movements. There are other people I have shared a changing room with as well who I think are really good like Ronaldinho and Alexis Sanchez.”
Alexis is certainly up there with the most skilful players in the world, and he’s regularly amazed us with the things he can do with a ball. He’s been a booming success since his arrival at the Emirates in 2014, and his skill, work-rate, energy, and goalscoring prowess has made him a real fan favourite.
Injuries and exhaustion have limited his impact this season and he clearly hasn’t been the same player he was in his debut campaign. He’s still been badly missed though, and despite currently being top of the table, you have to assume we’d be doing even better this season if it weren’t for the Chilean’s lengthy absence.

Arsenal transfer news
Thankfully, the 27-year-old looks set for an imminent return, and could even be back in time to face his former teammate Pedro when we host Chelsea this Sunday (via the Daily Mail). It’s a massive game despite Chelsea’s fall from grace this season, so hopefully Alexis can use some of his skill to get us the win.
