Mesut Özil has once again taken to social media to send a message to Arsenal fans ahead of a big game, thanking the supporters and letting them know just how proud he is to be honoured withe the latest Özil themed song.
He implored the Arsenal faithful to “keep singing on”, letting them know just what he thought of the new chant.
Heard about that brilliant song! I have to say I’m more than proud to have you as our fans. Keep singing on! https://t.co/dPBD6fzBJ6

For those of you who haven’t heard the chant before, it goes something like this:
“We’ve got Özil, Mesut Özil, I just don’t think you understand. He’s Arsene Wenger’s man, he’s better than Zidane. We’ve got Mesut Özil.”
The German playmaker has been a fan favourite pretty much since he arrived from Real Madrid back in 2013, with the nature of the marquee signing and the fact that he was (and still is) our record acquisition delighting fans right from the off.
The fact that he’s now playing arguably the best football of his career means the love for the World Cup winner has only increased, so it’s hardly surprising to hear this song echoing around.

It’s not an original song, but does that really matter? Plenty of football chants come from the same routes, but nobody really seems to care.
Arsenal transfer news
It’s a great chant, Özil loves it, and we’re top of the league. What else can we ask for?
I suppose we could ask to beat Chelsea this weekend, cementing our place atop the Premier League for another week.
