Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is a top talent, but hasn’t progressed quite as much as many would have hoped. His struggles at Arsenal have not gone unnoticed, and he’s now a summer target for West Ham, according to the Brentwood Gazette.
The Englishman has the potential to be one of the world’s best, as he possesses all the physical attributes required to succeed at the highest level. He hasn’t developed the way he really should have though, and his mental attributes are regularly brought into question.
We regularly see the Ox leaving his opponents in the dust, using his pace, power, and trickery to burst past them and into great positions. He consistently finds himself in fantastic goalscoring positions and areas he could easily put it on a plate for his teammates. He lacks any type of composure though, and regularly skies it, scuffs his shots, or blasts his crosses into row z.
He came in for a huge amount of criticism after the Barcelona game, with the 22-year-old missing arguably the best chance of the whole game due to his complete lack of composure.
That said, Arsene Wenger is unlikely to want to sell him, especially for the £15m fee being touted in the report. Wenger has invested a huge amount of time and money in Chamberlain, and it’s hard to see him giving up now. He’s still young with plenty to prove, and though he hasn’t improved as much as we’d have liked, he’s still got massive potential.
Time away from Arsenal wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing, and perhaps regular first team football and a season on loan with West Ham could actually give him the confidence boost he needs. He seems to be his own worst enemy at the moment, constantly criticising himself and putting far too much pressure on himself too.

Arsenal transfer news
It would be a real shame to see the Ox leave, so hopefully this transfer rumour is as rubbish as it appears to be.
