Arsene Wenger is apparently planning to react in a big way to our loss against Manchester United, with the Frenchman planning on dropping three first team regulars for our Premier League clash with Swansea, as reported by the Express.
We were absolutely shocking on Sunday, and deservedly lost against an injury hit Manchester United side. We were lazy, lacking desire and clinical finishing, and a number of players were simply underperforming.
The report suggests the manager is planning to drop Alexis Sanchez, Aaron Ramsey, and Theo Walcott, all of whom were bang average (at best) against Louis van Gaal’s side.
Walcott was particularly poor, touching the ball just a handful of times during over an hour on the pitch; with many of those touches simply resulting in him being dispossessed.
Ramsey and Alexis weren’t much better though, with both players uncharacteristically switching off defensively at times. The pair were also disappointing going forward, as they have been all season in honesty.
Whether the trio will actually be dropped remains to be seen, and even if they are benched – or removed from the squad completely – it may just be about resting them during a busy fixture list rather than a punishment for their performances against United.

We’ve got Swansea in midweek and then a massive game against Tottenham a few days later, and both are really must wins. While Swansea should be a simple three points on paper, we need to make sure we don’t drop any more easy points, as we’ve already given Leicester City and Spurs a bit of a lead ahead of us in the table.
While we need to be taking six points from these two games, Tottenham is unquestionably more of a must win, and is arguably a six pointer in itself.
Arsenal transfer news
We really need Alexis Sanchez in particular to find some form, as without his goals – especially while he’s taking up a place in the team – we really lack any kind of threat in the final third.
