Summer signing Yassin Fortune has signed his first professional contract, with the teen star’s impressive form at youth level enough to earn him a new deal.
The news was announced on Arsenal’s official Twitter account, with the club congratulating Fortune on his new contract.

Fortune joined Arsenal last summer as part of the deal that saw Jeff Reine-Adelaide arrive from Lens, with both players looking like incredibly bright prospects. The 17-year-old hasn’t had quite the start to his Arsenal career that Reine-Adelaide has, but there’s clearly lots more to come from him.
He was given the odd chance to shine in pre-season, but since then he’s been nowhere near the first team. Instead he’s been limited to appearances for the U21s and U18s, as well as helping the U19s win the Durban international football tournament – grabbing a goal in the dying minutes of the final.
Fortune has been scoring for fun with the U18s this season, and certainly looks to have an eye for goal. We have a huge number of talented young forwards looking to break into the first team already, but Fortune is definitely among the most promising.

It may still be a while before we see him anywhere near the first-team on a regular basis, but at least we’ve tied him down to a new long-term deal.
