Celebrity Arsenal fan Piers Morgan has blamed club owner Stan Kroenke for our inactivity in the transfer market, accusing the American tycoon of blowing our transfer funds on a $750m ranch.
Morgan is incredibly vocal about his disapproval of the current Arsenal management and ownership, and regularly hits out at Arsene Wenger and Stan Kroenke.
For the most part it’s totally unfounded and often ridiculous, and while it’s a bit ridiculous to suggest Kroenke has blown our transfer kitty on a ranch, you can hardly blame him for being frustrated with our lack of movement during the window.
Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke just bought a $750 million ranch. So THAT’S where all the transfer window money went. #afc

We’ve spent less than every other Premier League side in the last two transfer windows combined, and for a team pushing for the title that’s just not acceptable. We’ve only added Petr Cech and Mohamed Elneny to the side over the last 12 months, and we unquestionably need to strengthen in other areas of the pitch.
We can’t get upset every time Kroenke splashes the cash on something other than Arsenal though, as it really shouldn’t surprise us. He’s not the kind of owner who piles money into his sports teams (of which he has several), and he sees them more as a business to be made profitable.

Many Arsenal fans would obviously prefer a mega rich owner who’s willing to invest heavily to improve the team – Piers Morgan being one of them – but unless we get a massive takeover then that won’t be happening anytime soon.
