Micheal Owen has once again given his view on the upcoming Premier League fixtures, and has predicted the result of our Emirates clash with Southampton on Bet Victor.
The former Liverpool and Manchester United man is far and away one of the most controversial pundits around, and consistently spouts absolute rubbish. He’s notoriously anti-Arsenal, and regularly tips us to drop out of the top four and lose games most would expect us to win.
This time he’s been a little more positive where we’re concerned though, and despite our poor record against Ronald Koeman’s side he’s tipped us to get the win.
“Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has gone head-to-head with Ronald Koeman on 10 previous occasions as Arsenal manager but has only come out on top twice,” Owen wrote.
Not exactly super positive, but he did suggest we’d get a narrow victory. Arsene Wenger and the team will be looking to get revenge for the drubbing we received in the reverse fixture. We’ve been slipping down the table ever since then really, and currently find ourselves in third place behind Manchester City and Leicester City.
Although we don’t necessarily believes this is a must win game as far as our title challenge goes, the more breathing room we give City and Leicester the more difficult a recovery will be. The two teams ahead of us play each other on the weekend, so if we get the win over Southampton this Tuesday then we could at the very least move back into second by the weekend, and potentially even reclaim top spot.

We’ve got a number of players back from injury and our squad is starting to look a little stronger, so we really need to stand up and show we’re capable of pushing for the title. Home form is where any good title push begins, so we really should be putting a marker down at the Emirates against the Saints.
