It was fantastic news for Arsenal fans and Premier League fans in general when news broke of an injury to David de Gea, as the Spaniard has been all that’s keeping Manchester United from slipping down the table at times this season. Unfortunately it looks as though the injury isn’t as bad as first feared, and the shot-stopper should be back in time for our trip to Old Trafford, according to the Daily Mail.
De Gea was injured ahead of their catastrophic Europa League loss against FC Midtjylland, and it seemed as though he was set to miss a few weeks of action. The report suggests he’ll be back in a matter of days though, which means he’ll almost certainly be back in time for the clash with Arsenal.
He’s thought to still be a doubt for their FA Cup clash against Shrewsbury, but could feature at the earliest against Midtjylland in the second leg. It’s a disappointing news, but hopefully the way Manchester United are playing under Louis van Gaal we can get the win regardless.
Arsenal transfer news
We’ve got players of our own returning from injury, and should be close to full strength by the time we head up north to Old Trafford. Although United aren’t the same team they once were they are still occasionally a force to be reckoned with, and this is another massive game that we need to win if we want to be in with a chance of lifting the title come the end of the campaign.
