Olivier Giroud has piled the praise on Mesut Özil ahead of our FA Cup clash with Hull City, and promised to provide the German international with more assists.
Özil has been on fire this season, assisting left, right, and centre. He’s far and away the league leader in the assists chart, and many of those assists have been for Olivier Giroud. The Frenchman insists he’ll return the favour though, and suggests he’ll be looking to provide a few more for the World Cup winner.
“Maybe I have to give him more assists then,” he said (via Arsenal.com).
“But it’s his job in the team to try to link the game and connect the team. He is our playmaker and his football vision on the pitch is amazing.
“I try to make good movements and he always passes the ball to the right place at the right time. He’s a fantastic ‘assist man’ so I’m pleased to have him on our side.”
The praise for Özil never stops, and we regularly hear how fantastic his vision, timing, and passing range is. And rightly so, as he’s been arguably the best playmaker in the world this season.

He’s often single-handedly dragged us to victory this season, putting goals on a plate for his teammates or scoring himself. His contributions have been a huge part of our success, and we couldn’t expect to be where we are without him.
Arsenal transfer news
Both Olivier Giroud and Mesut Özil might be on the bench or rested altogether against Hull City this weekend, but hopefully both men can play a part in an unlikely victory against Barcelona next week.
