Things might just be looking up after a disappointing start to 2016, with the latest good news coming out of Arsenal being a potential new contract for Alexis Sanchez, as reported by The Guardian.
We’ve been struggling for form recently, and things were starting to look a bit dim after we failed to score for three consecutive games. Our 2-0 win over Bournemouth has hopefully turned things around a little though, and now it seems we’re about to tie one of our key stars down to a new long-term deal.
Alexis has been a massive part of our setup ever since he arrived in 2014, and along with Mesut Özil has brought a truly world class feeling to the Emirates. It would appear that he’s happy to remain at the club too, with the 27-year-old apparently set to commit his long-term future to us.
Arsene Wenger is clearly looking to get his ducks in order at the moment, and has been doing his best to tie all his top stars down to new deals recently. Alexis is just the latest in a long line, but is arguably one of the most important.
Arsenal transfer news
He was highly coveted before we signed him, and his fantastic form during his debut season only served to heighten the interest of other top clubs. The fact that we’re set to disappoint his suitors and ensure he remains at the Emirates is a huge boost, and hopefully the reports prove true.

The report suggests Wenger is looking to add Mesut Özil to the list of players signing new long-term deals, so fingers crossed he joins Alexis Sanchez and puts pen to paper.
