Despite what many think, Arsene Wenger is working hard to bring top stars to the club, with attempts to bring Karim Benzema, Luis Suarez, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to the Emirates all falling through, as reported by the Daily Star.
A huge number of Arsenal fans are getting fed up with Wenger’s unwillingness to spend in the transfer market, with everyone desperate to see the Frenchman spend big and bring a new striker to the club.
It seems Wenger isn’t just resting on his laurels though, with the report citing respected Spanish journalist Kike Marin, who claims the 66-year-old has been doing his best to bring a new striker to north London.
“Arsenal needs a striker top,” he said.
“Wenger knows it and so he tried to sign Suarez, Benzema or Aubameyang.

If we do manage to bring someone the calibre of Luis Suarez or Karim Benzema to the club, Giroud would obviously see his role diminished somewhat. That doesn’t mean he’d be totally replaced though, as he’s already incredibly overworked. He could do with some help, and it may also spur him on to be better.

We’ve seen what competition can do to Giroud’s game, and with a player like Danny Welbeck pushing for a starting spot – who certainly isn’t remotely comparable to one of the world’s top strikers – the French forward has only improved. Although we could certainly improve on him, Giroud gets more stick than he arguably deserves. We badly need reinforcements up front, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the end of Giroud.
