Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has recently been linked with a move away from the Emirates, and the latest team to be showing an interest is Manchester City, according to The Times.
Pep Guardiola will be taking over from Manuel Pellegrini at the end of the season, and the Spaniard is apparently a huge fan of the Ox. After our clashes with Bayern Munich earlier this season he described him as a “magnificent player”, and he’s now reportedly top of his transfer list.
The Ox has been linked with a number of clubs in recent times, but Man City might seem the most tempting. While he’d be unlikely to want to make a massive step down to a smaller Premier League side, Man City could be an enticing prospect though – both financially and trophy wise.
That said, would Manchester City really be interested in the Ox? He hasn’t exactly kicked on and realised the potential he showed as a teen, and with the funds available to the Citizens they seem likely to look elsewhere. The only real reason they’d be looking at the Ox is due to the 22-year-old meeting the home-grown requirements, which obviously they’ve struggled with in the past.
Arsenal transfer news
Many Arsenal fans feel it’s time to give up on the Ox, as his inconsistency has been a real concern. He’s still only 22 though, so there’s plenty of time for him to develop. He’s got all the physical qualities to be a top quality player, and hopefully with time he develops mentally as well.
