CSKA Moscow’s versatile attacker Ahmed Musa is looking for a summer switch to the Premier League, and is hoping it will be with Arsenal, as reported by Russian outlet Championat.
The Nigerian forward is hoping to emulate his idol, Nwankwo Kanu, and forge a career at Arsenal. He’s a life long Arsenal fan, but wants to make sure the next club he joins allows him regularly first-team football.
“Interest from clubs? What club? I do not care,” he said.
“But Musa has to play, you know. I cannot sit on the bench. So I will have to go to the Premier League club that will believe in me.
“I would be happy if I was wanted by Arsenal. I have supported the team since the age of six. Nwankwo Kanu has been my idol since childhood. It will be fantastic to play for Arsenal.”
The 23-year-old also revealed that he’d been approached by current league leaders Leicester, who were looking to sign him in January. He’s determined to remain with CSKA until the end of the season though, and then he’ll contemplate a move to England.

“I will not hide it – Leicester actually came to our club,” he continued.
“But I repeat that I want to finish the season with CSKA to help them to win a championship, and then think about changing team.”
Musa is incredibly versatile, and has played all across the front for CSKA this season. He particularly thrives as a left sided attacking midfielder, although he’s regularly used as an out and out striker or in other midfield positions. This is likely to make him very appealing to Arsene Wenger, who loves having players who can cover multiple positions and loves experimenting with players in unusual roles.

His pace and trickery would certainly make him seem suited to the Premier League, and he’d be able to switch roles with Alexis Sanchez, Danny Welbeck, or any other of our forwards.
