Mesut Ozil has revealed to the German press that he will be available for both of his countries friendlies during the imminent international break, squashing worries of a series ankle problem picked up over the weekend.
The midfielder sustained the injury after John Stones had landed awkwardly on Ozil’s ankle after an aerial challenge around the 74th minute of Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Everton. He was swiftly substituted after hobbling off, just another worrying moment for Arsenal fans after the clubs ongoing injury woes.
Ozil confirmed to reporters that his “participation in the two games is not at risk” (via Sport1) for Germany as they face England and Italy in preparation for this summers Euro 2016 competition.
The news will come as a big relief with Ozil vital and integral to this Arsenal outfit who looked bang in form against Everton. Hopefully it was a sign of things to come and we will see the German maestro back in action after the international break raring to go.
