Alexis Sanchez has been tipped to make an Arsenal exit this summer, with the Chilean losing faith in our ability to win titles after yet another mid-season collapse, as reported by the The Sun.
Carlo Ancelotti is set to take over at the Bundesliga side once Pep Guardiola leaves, and he’s apparently keen to bring Alexis to Germany with him. He’s looking to replace the injury stricken and ageing duo of Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery, with the Arsenal talisman seen as the best option.
The report suggests Alexis is contemplating his future, and after our failure to win any silverware this season is considering pushing for a move away from the Emirates.
These reports come in spite of the former Barcelona star’s recent comments, with Alexis insisting he was happy at Arsenal and had no intention of leaving.
He’s spoken of the lack of belief and desire at the club in the past, but doesn’t talk like someone who intends to jump ship at the first opportunity.
“If we go out on to to the pitch with hunger to become champions, to win the Premier League or the Champions League we can achieve it,” he said.

“There are great players here, I train with them daily and they have got the mentality and the desire to win, but sometimes we lack the hunger, the mentality that we are winning 1-0 when we go out on to the pitch.
“Sometimes we lack this hunger to believe that we can be champions… [We need] to go out on to the pitch feeling that we are already winning 1-0.”
It would be really disappointing if Alexis actually were looking to force his way out of the club this summer, as although during his debut campaign at Arsenal you could certainly say he was a cut above the rest of the team, his poor form this season has been a large part of the reason we’ve failed to challenge for silverware.
You can’t really criticise your teammates for their poor performances when yours have been equally disappointing, so hopefully these stories really are nothing but rumours.
Arsenal transfer news
We need Alexis to stay to make a statement more than anything else, keeping our best players at the club as well as adding more firepower. Let’s just hope that next season he’s not only still here, but back to his best and firing on all cylinders.
