Alexis Sanchez has apparently asked Arsene Wenger to sign Juventus star Alvaro Morata this summer, with the Chilean believing the former Real Madrid star will help us challenge for the trophies we failed to get close to this season, as reported by Don Balon (via the Mirror).
The former Barcelona star has been linked with an exit at times this season (via the Metro), with reports suggesting he was unhappy at the lack of ambition at the club. He insists he’s happy at Arsenal though, but simply wants Wenger to make a few key signings this summer.
Alvaro Morata has been heavily linked with us on a number of occasions, with interest first cropping up back when he was with Real Madrid. With the report suggesting Real Madrid are set to activate a buyback clause in order to sell him on for a profit, we’re once again being tipped to make a move for the young striker.
He enjoyed a fantastic debut campaign with Juventus, although has struggled slightly from second season syndrome. The Spanish international has scored just ten goals so far this season, being totally overshadowed by Paulo Dybala.
It seems strange to think that we’d pay a huge amount for an out of form young striker, or that Alexis Sanchez would be pushing so hard for the move to happen. He’s definitely a player of real quality with massive potential, but we should really be looking at signing a world class striker who is ready to come in and get us goals right now.

Alexis has been a rival of Morata’s back in the players’ days at Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively, so perhaps he sees something truly excellent in the player that tells him he’s a must buy.
