Kingsley Coman has been fantastic at Bayern Munich this season, and we’re apparently among the clubs monitoring his situation and looking too prise him away, as reported by the Daily Star.
We’ve received a bit of a boost in the hunt for his signature too, with the Frenchman insisting that eventually he could see himself playing in the Premier League. Unfortunately, that’s not likely to be for a while, as the 19-year-old can’t see himself playing anywhere other than Bayern for the next three years.
“For me it is the most interesting league in the world,” the Frenchman told The Guardian.
“But I am thinking of the next three years and I can only see myself at Bayern. My career is just starting so you never know. But England has a league where every player would like to play.”
That said though, even if he does make the switch to England in the near future, he may not be too keen to join Arsenal. He has formed a relatively strong bond with Pep Guardiola during his short time at the club, and with the Spaniard on his way to Manchester City, he could be persuaded to follow him there.
“For me Guardiola is one of the best coaches in the world, if not the best,” he added.
“He has helped me a lot – his style of play suits me. He gave me a chance to play and some good advice: ‘Don’t ask yourself questions. Just play.’
“When I heard he was leaving [to join City] I was sorry. I’ve only known him this season but I have bonded with him.”
Arsenal under Arsene Wenger have always been known for showing faith in youth, and adding the teenager to our ranks would really give us a boost in that regard. He’s one of the most promising young stars in the game right now, and Wenger would no doubt love to see his compatriot at the Emirates.
Arsenal transfer news
Currently on loan from Juventus, it seems impossible that Bayern Munich would turn down the chance to sign him permanently when the deal ends. Hopefully we get a chance to sign him in the future though, as it’s hard to see him being anything than world class.
