We’ve been linked with Marcelo Brozovic for quite some time, and have now been given the green light to sign him from Dinamo Zagreb this summer, according to Italian publication Tuttosport.
He’s currently on loan with Inter Milan, but his deal with the Serie A side comes to an end at the close of the season. We’re apparently clear to sign him if we meet the valuation, with a £15m fee being touted (via Tuttosport).
It was believed that Inter Milan were keen on keeping Brozovic at the club, but things have changed as the season has worn on. The report suggests that their inability to land a Champions League spot is one of the deciding factors, with the lack of income potentially impacting their ability to pay the asking price.
Arsene Wenger is known to be a big fan of the 23-year-old, and has been monitoring him for years with a view to bringing him to the Emirates. We’re not the only ones chasing his signature though, with Chelsea also apparently keen on bringing him to the Premier League.
Arsenal transfer news
Brozovic is a solid player, but he hasn’t exactly set the Italian league alight. He wouldn’t be the worst signing in the world, but does he really have the quality we need to make us real title contenders?
