Leicester midfielder N’Golo Kante has been linked with a move to Arsenal recently, and Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri claims if the price is right then he wouldn’t stop the Frenchman from making the move down to London, as reported by the Daily Star.
The surprise league leaders have been phenomenal this season, and understandably Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy have been getting most of the credit. Kante – along with a couple of other players – have flown slightly under the radar though, despite playing absolutely out of their skins.
The defensive midfielder is now being chased by a number of top clubs, and Ranieri insists he won’t block a move if that’s what the player wants.
“I think he should rest here a while but if some big teams give us a lot of money then maybe we can think about it,” Ranieri said.
“If he’s not happy here then I don’t want sad players. But he’s always smiling so let’s see.”
You can hardly blame Kante for being happy at the moment, as he’s part of a team that look likely to go down in history. The underdogs look set to defy the odds and lift the Premier League trophy, and Kante can honestly say he was a large part of that.

However, Leicester are unlikely to find themselves in the same position next season, and he might find it hard to turn down a big money move to a larger club. He presumably won’t have any shortage of suitors though, so we are likely to have some serious competition for his signature if we’re actually looking to bring him to the Emirates.

He could arguably prove to be the perfect player for us too, as he boasts the defensive quality of Francis Coquelin, while also arguably being a little better on the ball too. Mohamed Elneny seems to be playing a different role to the one we expected when he signed, so perhaps there is still a need for Kante.
