Henrikh Mkhitaryan has apparently decided he wants a move to Arsenal this summer, and has sent members of his family to London in order to begin house hunting, as reported by The Sun.
The Armenian has been in superb form this season, and has been a massive part of Borussia Dortmund’s success. There’s a new contract on offer for the 27-year-old with the Bundesliga side, but he has reportedly already made his mind up and wants to be playing at the Emirates next season.
Arsene Wenger has been scouting the goalscoring attacking midfielder following our meetings with Dortmund in the Champions League, and is now determined to land him this summer. It seems like the player himself is more than open to the move, so we now just need to agree a fee with Dortmund. With just a year left on his current contract (via The Sun) the German side may well be forced into selling him, as they’re unlikely to want to lose him for free next summer.
He probably won’t come cheap, but his goals and assists this season suggest he’s more than worth the money. With 20 goals and a huge number of assists he’s making more contributions than most strikers, and we could certainly use more goals from midfield.
We’ve created a huge number of chances this season, but haven’t been able to convert enough of them. Hopefully Mkhitaryan would go some way towards remedying that, with Wenger keen to see him link up with Mesut Özil.

We really need to sign a couple of top quality players to take that step up and push towards the Premier League title, as we really can’t expect the top teams to struggle the same way they did this season.
