Petr Cech has sent a message to Arsenal fans ahead of our game against Watford this weekend, showing that he’s back in training and ready to reclaim his place in the starting XI.
The former Chelsea shot-stopper injured himself running up for a late corner during our 2-1 loss against Swansea, pulling a muscle as he ran back towards his own goal. He finally looks set to make his return though, and will presumably slot straight back into the starting XI.
David Ospina has actually done a decent job stepping in, which many weren’t expecting. Earlier this season he made a number of high profile mistakes which looked to have cost him his Arsenal career, but Cech’s injury opened the door a crack. He’s still unquestionably second choice, but at least he’s shown we can rely on him.
Arsenal transfer news
Cech’s injury was just the latest in a long line of injury blows, which have once again really derailed our campaign. It’s most probably too late to really do anything about it now, but at least we’ll have Cech back for the last few games of the season.

Arsene Wenger recently suggested that he wasn’t too sure if Cech would be fit for the Watford game (via Arsenal.com), claiming he’d need assessing before the match. The player himself is clearly ready to go though, and will hopefully feature this weekend.
