Arsene Wenger has revealed the team news ahead of this weekend’s clash with West Ham, and it’s good news for the most part, as reported by Arsenal.com.
The manager suggests the squad is pretty similar from the one that faced Watford last weekend, with a couple of players potentially returning from injury.
Aaron Ramsey and Mathieu Flamini are the two players potentially looking to make a return from injury, although with the team performing the way they have been it seems unlikely they’ll get too much of a look in.
“We have a similar squad available. Ramsey could join the squad again because he had a good training session on Wednesday and would normally have a final test on Friday. There’s a possibility he could be back in the squad. Flamini is in a similar situation to Ramsey,” he said.
Santi [Cazorla] and Alex [Oxlade-Chamberlain] are the only injuries now. At the moment we [are waiting] on Alex coming back to fitness and Santi to practice. They should not be too far. Overall, the injury situation looks quite good.”
With Francis Coquelin and Mohamed Elneny forming such a strong partnership in midfield it seems unlikely that Flamini and Ramsey will be given a chance any time soon, although the pair could at least make an appearance off the bench. Cazorla is still the big miss in midfield, although Elneny has certainly eased the pain of losing the Spaniard for most of the campaign.

Wenger also revealed that Tomas Rosicky and Jack Wilshere will be taking part with the U21s this Friday, which means although they won’t be fit for this weekend’s game against West Ham, they are likely to play some part with the senior side before the season ends.
