The Armenian star has been phenomenal for Dortmund this season, scoring and assisting with regularity. He’s got among the best goal and assist numbers in the game this season, and would unquestionably be a superb signing.
The 27-year-old has long been linked with a move to Arsenal, but previously a switch had looked difficult. With the midfielder out of contract at the end of next season however, Dortmund may be forced into selling this summer, and the report suggests we’re favourites to land his signature.
We’re apparently facing competition from Chelsea, but with Juan Cuadrado potentially coming back next season Mkhitaryan may not be as much of a priority for the Blues. We can also offer Champions League football, which the freescoring Dortmund star will no doubt want to continue competing in.
One of Mkhitaryan’s biggest strengths is his versatility, playing in pretty much every midfield and wing position possible. Arsene Wenger absolutely loves versatility in a player, and the fact that Mkhitaryan can fluidly interchange across a number of positions will greatly appeal to the Frenchman.

Arsenal transfer news
Even though his contract is coming to an end soon he’s still likely to cost a huge amount, but if he can replicate the form he’s been showing recently then it would be well worth it. We badly need to add more goals to the team, particularly from midfield, and Mkhitaryan would provide us with just that.
