Jack Wilshere has apparently played a huge part in convincing Jamie Vardy to make the switch from Leicester City to Arsenal this summer, with Wilshere whispering in the striker’s ear ahead of the potential £20m move, according to Goal.

International teammates often talk to each other about their clubs, and understandably discuss the perks and drawbacks of their current clubs too. Arsenal as a club is known for its family atmosphere, and Wilshere has clearly been doing his best to convince Vardy that the Emirates is the place to be.
While technically this might come under the realms of tapping up – which is obviously illegal – nobody is ever going to crack down on it. It’s only natural for players to discuss their jobs and their situations, and for them to want to have their international teammates at club level alongside them.
There are mixed feelings about Vardy’s potential transfer, with many feeling the pacy forward isn’t well suited to Arsenal. We’ve all been calling for a striker for a long time though, and if Vardy is the player Arsene Wenger feels we need then we’ll just have to wait and see how it works out.
Goal’s report suggests there’s a medical set for Sunday afternoon, with Wenger looking to get his business done early. It seems like Vardy may well be set to join Arsenal before the Euro 2016 Championships commence, and with Granit Xhaka already confirmed this would be a real change in policy from Wenger.
Arsenal transfer news
Hopefully it won’t be the last of the summer transfers, and the rest of the Arsenal squad are working equally as hard as Wilshere to convince their international teammates to make the switch to north London.
