Lyon have apparently decided to cash in on Nabil Fekir this summer, and Arsene Wenger may well have been alerted by the player’s availability, as reported by Le10Sport (via talkSPORT).

Fekir had a phenomenal 2014/15 campaign, and last summer he was heavily linked with a move away from Lyon. The Ligue 1 side refused to sell though, and the Frenchman then suffered cruciate ligament damage which saw him miss almost the entire season. He returned just before the end of the season, making a handful of appearances – mostly off the bench.
Lyon are apparently hoping that interest in the 22-year-old is still high, looking to cash in by selling him this summer. There are a number of clubs interested, and we’re apparently facing some serious competition from Paris Saint-Germain (via talkSPORT).
West Ham have also been tipped to make a £20m move for Fekir (via The Sun), although if Arsenal or PSG make a serious move for him too then you have to imagine the Hammers would have little to no chance of getting a deal done.
While at this point it’s hard to tell how Fekir will bounce back from his injury, if he can find the form he showed in 2014/15 then he’d be a phenomenal signing. His versatility would no doubt appeal to Arsene Wenger too, with the youngster able to play up front, as a No.10, or out wide. We’ve recently been heavily linked with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Riyad Mahrez (via ESPN), and if neither of them work out then Fekir could prove a cheaper (and younger) alternative.
Arsenal transfer news
Mahrez and Mkhitaryan would no doubt prove far better acquisitions in the short term, but Fekir is certainly a player of real quality and could still prove an excellent signing.
