Match of the Day host and Leicester City legend Gary Lineker is not happy with Arsenal at all at the moment, with reports in the media linking us with moves for both Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy (via The Sun).

A striker is certainly top of Arsene Wenger’s transfer list, but a wide forward is also a necessity this summer. Our options out wide are extremely limited, and while Wenger is known for playing midfielders on the wing, we really need to be signing a top class winger to bring balance to a team that plays Alexis Sanchez on one flank.
Vardy and Mahrez have both been tipped to make an Emirates switch this summer, with Wenger keen to bring arguably the two most important players in Leicester’s title winning side to north London. Lineker is clearly not happy that we’re looking to poach both players, sending a message to Arsenal and letting everyone know exactly how he feels about the matter.
Arsenal are now allegedly pursuing Mahrez as well as Vardy. Oh just bugger off?

Thankfully, Wenger is unlikely to take advice from Lineker, and if he thinks Mahrez is available for the right price this summer then hopefully he’ll move for him. The Algerian international would arguably be a far better signing than his older teammate, although the transfer fees are obviously likely to be drastically different. Mahrez was absolutely phenomenal last season though, and at such a young age you would hope that the only direction he can go is up.

It looks like we may have to wait until after the Euros for our next signing to be announced now, but hopefully we can disappoint Lineker by signing at least one of Leicester’s key men.
