Much to everyone’s surprise, Tottenham looked like real title contenders at one point this season. After our post-Christmas collapse they were Leicester City’s closest competition, and there was a time when it genuinely looked like they could win it.
They well and truly bottled it though, sliding down the table into what looked like an impossible third place. We pipped them to second, ensuring a final day of the season St Totteringham’s day.
Discussing England’s chances at the Euros this summer, Henry pointed out the mental fragility of the Tottenham youngsters, suggesting that Wayne Rooney’s experience would be the key to them not falling apart.
“Wayne Rooney is going to be key for me,” he said.

“His experience in and around those youngsters will be key. We saw recently with Tottenham for example that those youngsters can be mentally weak.
“Rooney has a lot of experience playing in major tournaments. Being sent off against Portugal himself. So to have that experience in and around that dressing room is vital. How many in that England squad have played in tournaments time and time again?”
England are being touted as one of the favourites for the tournament, despite their poor performances in recent major competitions. This is unquestionably one of the best England squads we’ve seen in a while, but there are definite weak points and inexperience in certain areas.
