Juventus have seemingly won the race to sign £79million Gonzalo Higuain, after the Italian champions activated his astronomical release clause that expires later this month according to Sky Sport.
The Napoli centre forward is said to have undergone a medical with Juve on Friday and agreed terms with the club, and all that is left to be agreed is the final figure between the clubs. However Napoli have no choice but to sell to their rivals thanks to the enormous release clause.
Arsenal have been credited with interest in the Argentina international, with Arsene Wenger requiring at least one major striking signing to compliment and compete against Olivier Giroud.
Fans had been hoping it would be the 28-year-old, who has become one of the games most lethal strikers from his time at Real Madrid and in Naples. However at almost £80million and in his late 20’s the striker is unlikely to tick Wenger’s ‘value for money’. But he was however, a prime candidate and available. Not something you can say about many strikers at his level in the game.
Another disappointing day at the office for Dick Law and co.
