Arsenal have reportedly fended off Everton to sign Deportivo La Coruna star striker Lucas Perez for a fee believed to be in the region of €20million, with the Gunners activating the La Liga forward’s release clause.
BBC’s respected reporter David Ornstein broke the news on Thursday evening via his twitter account, suggesting Arsenal have met the player’s buyout clause with Transfer Deadline Day just six days away.
“Arsenal have beaten Everton to signing of Deportivo La Coruna striker Lucas Perez. Deal agreed, #AFC meeting €20m release clause, 17.1m,” the tweet read.

Ornstein broke the news on Thursday morning that Arsenal were interested in Perez who netted 17 times last season, with reports surfacing from Spain that Arsene Wenger was set to launch a bid for the Spaniard.
