Arsenal and Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Torino forward Andrea Belotti. The striker is 22 years old and was called up to the Italian National Team last month (via The Sun).
Arsenal may have brought in Lucas Perez but it seems that Arsene Wenger is still looking into possible striking options. The newest player The Gunners are reportedly interested in signing is Torino forward Andrea Belotti.
Belotti is 22 years old and signed for the club last season from Palermo. He started his career playing slightly deeper but has been pushed further forward in recent years and has flourished in the role. The Italian has four goals in his two Serie A matches this term after netting a hat trick in Torino’s 5-1 victory over Bologna.
Now Belotti is attracting the interest of Premier League sides. Arsene Wenger was reportedly interested in the player during the summer but instead opted for Lucas Perez. However The Boss is still apparently keen on bringing in Belotti as another option for the club. It is claimed that Jurgen Klopp is also interested in the Italian. Klopp has been deploying Roberto Firmino as a forward and doesn’t seem to be keen on Daniel Sturridge in that position.
Belotti could be a good option for The Gunners. It’s still unclear how Lucas Perez will settle in the Premier League, Danny Welbeck can’t get fit and Olivier Giroud turns 30 later this month. Arsenal will need to sign another striker in the coming seasons and it will be interesting to see whether Andrea Belotti is good enough to fit the bill. The Sun reports that the Italian could cost £12.5 million which could be a steal if his start to the season is anything to go by.
