Arsenal begin their Champions League campaign against PSG tonight. It’s the toughest fixture of the group stage and a match the Gunners will realistically have to get a result from if they are to finish as group winners.
Matchday: Team News – Predicted Lineup – Betting Preview
Match: PSG v Arsenal
Stadium: Parc des Princes
Kick Off (GMT): Tue Sep 13 19:45
It’s a massive match in Paris. The two clubs have never faced each other in a competitive match before so it will be a step into the unknown. Both clubs have the same record in their domestic leagues with seven points from four matches but that is a minor disaster for PSG given their recent history. It is just the third time since February 2015 that PSG have gone two Ligue 1 matches without victory. It is also the first time PSG have played in the Champions League without a certain Swedish striker since 2004 and Arsenal travel to Paris with a very good chance of getting a result.
Arsenal have a near-full strength team. Alexis Sanchez and Granit Xhaka were rested on the weekend and should come back in, Olivier Giroud could start and Laurent Koscielny is expected to recover from a facial injury in time to play.
PSG have a few more problems. Their team is boosted by the return of captain Thiago Silva from injury but the Paris side are expected to be without Serge Aurier, Maxwell, and Javier Pastore.
