Arsene Wenger confirmed in his pre-match press conference that he expects Laurent Koscielny to be fit for the match against PSG. Arsenal take on the French side at the Parc des Princes in the Champions League on Tuesday night and the Gunners centre back is expected to recover from a facial injury in time.
Laurent Koscielny had a very eventful afternoon last Saturday. The Frenchman played alongside his new centre back partner for the first time, scored an overhead kick, received a nasty injury to his face and even celebrated his birthday. It was thought that the 30-year-old might miss the match against PSG on Tuesday but Arsene Wenger has said that he expects the defender to be fit.
“He’s alright.” Wenger said in his pre-match press conference. “He had a big knock on his face but he recovered quite well. I was concerned after the game that he wouldn’t be available tomorrow but he’s alright.”
The boss also spoke about Olivier Giroud and whether he could start the match. “I have not decided,” Wenger said. “The players don’t know the team. We have 24 hours. Is he ready to start now? He’s close now, yes.”
So it seems that both Koscielny and Giroud could start the match in their homeland on Tuesday night. Stay tuned to allarsenal.com for all the latest matchday news.
