After an emphatic 4-0 win against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday, Arsenal have drawn against Championship side Reading for the fourth round of the EFL Cup.
The two sides last met in the competition back in 2012 when the Gunners pulled off an unforgettable comeback from 4-0 down to eventually win 7-5 at the Madejski Stadium. Goals by Olivier Giroud, Laurent Koscielny and a double with Theo Walcott including a last minute strike saw them equal the score and push the match into extra-time. Gunners then took an early lead with the help of Marouane Chamakh which was cancelled out by Pogrebnyak but a second by the Moroccan striker saw them through to the next round.
Arsenal have won all 13 meetings against the Royals, and will hope to stretch the record further by winning at the Emirates Stadium when they welcome them for the fourth round EFL tie.
The match is lined to be scheduled in the week of 24th October between a home fixture against Middlesbrough and an away game against Sunderland.
Gunners have a fairly easy draw compared to their North-London rivals Tottenham who face an away trip to Liverpool. Chelsea will travel to West Ham while Manchester United will take on Manchester City in a derby for the next EFL match.
