Theo Walcott praised the partnership he is striking up with Alexis Sanchez in the aftermath of the 2-0 victory over FC Basel. The Englishman grabbed a brace and both were created by Arsenal’s number 7 (via Arsenal.com).
Arsenal have secured two big wins in the last week but supporters will be most delighted with the performances against Chelsea and FC Basel. The Gunners were quick, dynamic and ruthless in attack and perhaps the two standout players have been Theo Walcott and Alexis Sanchez.
The Chilean remains as the Arsenal centre forward with Walcott in support out wide and the pair are striking up quite the partnership. The Englishman seems to be aware of it too. “It’s started off very well.” Walcott said after the match. “I will look back on this game but, yeah, the combinations between me and him are very positive at this moment in time.
“We seem to sort of know when we play off each other quite well. If he comes short, I go long and we’ve just got a good sort of combinations.
“It’s getting a good sort of partnership there, but it’s not just that, the whole team seems to be clicking. Me and Hector have got a good relationship on that right-hand side, it’s quite a pacy right-hand side.
“I think the whole team tends to react well and defend well as a unit and clean sheets are going to win games because we’re going to score plenty of goals.

“That combination between me and Alexis, it’s boding well but it’s obviously still very early into the season, so hopefully we can all stay fit and it’s going to be a good run.”
The link-up play between the pair has certainly been exciting. The last two performances have been some of the best in years and Arsenal fans have every right to be excited but as Walcott says, it’s still early in the season. The Gunners now need to keep this up and that starts with the match against Burnley on Sunday.
