Forgotten man Yaya Sanogo is set to leave the club in January with Saint Etienne cited as a possible destination. The Frenchman hasn’t played this season and reports in Europe suggest that he will be allowed to leave the Emirates on loan (via Sport Witness).
Arsenal aren’t having any trouble scoring goals at the moment and even have a wealth of options in reserve. Lucas Perez and Olivier Giroud have barely played this season and even further down the pecking order you’ll find another striker waiting. Yaya Sanogo is a long way away from the first team and he could soon find himself at another club.
The Frenchman hasn’t exactly been a hit at the Emirates since his free transfer from AJ Auxerre in 2013. Sanogo has failed to really break into the Arsenal first team and has spent a lot of his time out on loan. He had unsuccessful spells at Crystal Palace and Ajax before moving to Charlton last season. Sanogo got three goals during his eight matches at the club and now reports in Italy are linking the forward with another move away.
News outlet Calciomercato reports that Ligue 1 side Saint Etienne are keen to bring the striker in by January. The article also claims that Arsenal are willing to let the Frenchman leave the club on loan so a deal certainly isn’t out of the question.
It’s clear that Yaya Sanogo is not close to breaking through into the Arsenal first team right now and it’s doubtful if he ever will be. The 23-year-old has been a disaster at times so a move away seems to be the best option for everyone concerned.
