Juventus are reportedly interested in prising Santi Cazorla away from Arsenal with the midfielder out of contract this summer, according to CalcioMercatoWeb.
The Spaniard has admitted recently he is yet to be offered a new deal by the Gunners although he has insisted he is happy at the club and is not thinking about leaving.
However, the Italian champions are hoping to convince him not to agree an extension at the Emirates and instead head to Serie A when his current deal expires.
Juventus are also reportedly planning to bring in Axel Witsel from Zenit Saint Petersburg as they look to strengthen their midfield options.
Massimiliano Allegri’s side believe Cazorla can bring the right quality and experience to the Turin club, particularly in the Champions League which they have not won since 1996.
Cazorla turns 32 in December but remains a key player for the Gunners and has been a virtual ever present this season making nine appearances in all competitions and scoring twice.
With Francis Coquelin, Mohamed Elneny, Granit Xhaka and Aaron Ramsey on the books Arsenal are not lacking in central midfield options and the fact he has not yet been tied down to a new deal is something of a surprise.
However, it would still be a shock if he were allowed to walk away for free in the summer after four years at the club, particularly in light of his recent comments, where he effectively pledged his future to the Gunners.
The midfielder still has plenty to offer at the top level and fans will be hoping interest from Juventus may prompt Arsenal to finally offer him a contract extension and secure his future.
