Petr Cech has said that Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho have a number of similarities including the fact that they both hate losing. The keeper has been managed by both men and left Stamford Bridge for the Emirates last year in a surprising £10 million transfer (via The Mirror).
He’s one of few players to have played for both managers and Petr Cech has given the lowdown on the similarities between Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho. They aren’t the best of friends but Cech thinks they have more in common than they may think.
“They are different but there is one thing they have in common and this is they don’t like defeat,” Cech said via The Mirror.
“I think this is the driving force behind the success of both of them because you cannot last for such a long time if you don’t have the commitment and the hunger and if you’re doing everything to avoid defeat.”
The Czech stopper was speaking at a Guinness World Records presentation where he was given an award for keeping the highest number of clean sheets in Premier League history. Cech is undoubtedly one of the best keepers to play in the Premier League era and even had time to talk about his favourite moment in an Arsenal shirt.
“The 2015 Community Shield.” Cech explained. “It was my first competitive game for Arsenal, it was against Chelsea and it was at Wembley.

“I have to say this is something I will always remember that feeling. It was a special game and the reception from both fans and everything.
“I didn’t know what to expect, I was very nervous and in the end that was one game where I came home thinking, ‘Yes, that was fantastic.’”
Petr Cech will undoubtedly start for The Gunners on Saturday as his side take on Swansea at the Emirates. However, the former Chelsea man will have one eye on the calendar, counting down the days until his new club take on Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United on November 19.
