David Seaman has urged Arsenal to break the bank to keep hold of star duo Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.
The duo’s contracts expire in 2018 with no sign yet of either player agreeing an extension with Arsene Wenger admitting recently the Gunners find it difficult to keep hold of their best players.
Both Sanchez and Ozil have continued to highlight their importance to the club this season with the Chilean having already hit six goals while Ozil smashed a hat-trick past Ludogorets on Wednesday.
Seaman says Arsenal must be prepared to pay what it takes to keep both players and suggested they could break their wage structure, telling talkSPORT. “They will have to.
“These two are quality players so you give them what they deserve. If that’s the top wages at Arsenal then so be it.
“If everyone’s getting little rises here and there then it’s okay. I’m not a manager but you’ve got to juggle that.

“I remember when I was playing, I was near the top, and it’s a juggling thing. You’ve got to make sure that the players that influence the team the most are the players that get paid the most.”
Seaman has also been impressed with the calibre of players the Gunners have brought into the club this summer.
“They’ve made good signings,” he added.
“I know a lot of people were like, ‘Oh, they made them late’ but it doesn’t matter. You are buying players to fit into your team and that’s what has happened – you look at [Granit] Xhaka, [Shkodran] Mustafi, they’ve fitted in really well.
“There’s a couple of others that are taking their time but it’s their first season in the Premier League and it’s not easy to adapt.
“If you look at the way they’re playing, they’re doing well. But they’ve done well in this part of the season before, it’s when you get to the last quarter of the season when it coincides with the Champions League knock-out stages.
“When we’ve got knocked out [in the past] we seemed to have a little dip in our league form. We need to get rid of that, make sure we’re ready for that if it happens and then we kick on from there. We’ve got a good chance this season.”
Seaman’s comments will surely be echoed by most Arsenal fans who will be desperate to keep hold of the duo, particularly on the form they have been shown this season.
