Alexis Sanchez has confirmed he is fit and available to play for Arsenal against Manchester United on Sunday despite his recent injury concerns.
The Chile international returned to action on Tuesday in sensational style, scoring twice to help his side beat Uruguay 3-1 in World Cup qualifying.
Sanchez had been a doubt before the game after picking up an injury in training with manager Arsene Wenger insisting it would be a “suicidal” decision for him to play against Uruguay.
However, the forward played 84 minutes of the clash, producing a match-winning display before being substituted late on to a standing ovation.
Speaking after the game, the forward then confirmed he was confident he would be fit enough to play against Jose Mourinho’s side despite the short turnaround time.
“I travel today [Wednesday] to London,” Sanchez said according to the Evening Standard.
