Arsenal’s social media team has launched the hashtag #AssistMeMesut dedicating it to the man who helped the Gunners win all three points with that incredible solo goal against Ludogorets Razgrad earlier in the week.
The goal itself was a moment of magic. With the score at 2-2 and just a few minutes left on the clock, Özil broke clear and had the composure to chip the ball over the goalkeeper and round two defenders before sliding the ball into an empty net.
The German had already proven his quality earlier in the match, contributing to Arsenal’s first goal of the evening which was scored by Granit Xhaka. It gave the Gunners a route back into the match after going two goals down early on.
Twitter had already exploded thanks to the quality of the strike, but now the official Arsenal page has added fuel to the fire with a new hashtag. The club has urged fans to come forward with anything they’d like the German to help them with using the hashtag #AssistMeMesut, and they’ve certainly come forward.
