Jack Wilshere has said that he wants to help his parent club Arsenal out in the title race by beating Chelsea on Boxing Day. Wilshere travels to Stamford Bridge with his AFC Bournemouth teammates knowing that a victory over the Blues would really help out the Gunners.
If there’s one former player out there who you can guarantee is still an Arsenal fan, it’s Jack Wilshere. The Englishman was a boyhood Gunners fan and despite being on loan at AFC Bournemouth, has said in an interview that he’d like to help out his former teammates.
“Of course, I want Arsenal to do well so hopefully we can beat them and do Arsenal a favour,” Wilshere told Sky Sports.
The Blues are currently nine points ahead of the Gunners after an incredible run of eleven successive wins in the Premier League. A defeat on Boxing Day would go a long way to helping the Gunners get back in the title race and Wilshere vowed to do his best. However, the Englishman is still unsure where his future lies. The 24-year-old’s loan deal expires in the summer with his contract at the Emirates expiring the season after. There have been hints at a new deal but so far nothing concrete has emerged.
“I haven’t really thought about my future beyond getting a season under my belt and just trying to improve as a player,” Wilshere went on.
“I genuinely don’t know if I am going to end up at Arsenal or somewhere else.”

Wilshere has been very good at times this season and will hopefully continue to shine. Let’s hope the midfielder can help his teammates beat Chelsea on Monday and return to the Emirates next season with Arsenal as title holders.
