Arsenal general secretary David Miles has described the continuing contract talks with Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez as “looking pretty good”.
Arsenal, meanwhile, are rumoured to be willing to sell Ozil should he refuse to lower his wage demands although Arsene Wenger appears to be relaxed about the situation concerning both players.
Wenger has also confirmed that Arsenal are set to extend Santi Cazorla’s contract while there are also reports that Francis Coquelin, Laurent Koscielny and Olivier Giroud have agreed new deals.
Speaking about the club’s current contract talks after Monday’s Champions League draw, Miles appeared confident on all fronts.
“Of course, we know talks are ongoing with certain players and certain contracts,” he said via The Metro.

“At the moment, things are looking pretty good in that way.”
Miles also hinted that Wenger was keen to add to his squad when the transfer window reopens. The Gunners continue to be linked with a move to Julian Draxler in particular.
“Obviously that’s Arsene’s domain, and it’s in very safe hands,” he added.
“I know he’s already looking for opportunities to strengthen the squad.”
Miles’ words are great news and are what fans have been waiting to hear for some time, they should also go some way to calm fears recent speculation has created.
