Manchester United are planning a £30m summer move for Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, according to the Sunday Mirror.
The report claims that Jose Mourinho is keen to bring the 23-year-old to Old Trafford as he plans to strengthen his midfield and forward options.
The Red Devils have already sold Morgan Schneiderlin and Memphis Depay this year while there are doubts about the future of Michael Carrick who is yet to extend his current deal with the club.
Oxlade-Chamberlain, who can play centrally or out wide, would therefore give the Red Devils plenty of options and has reportedly impressed manager Mourinho.
The Portuguese is hopeful that the uncertainty surrounding Arsene Wenger’s future at the club will help him land Oxlade-Chamberlain who he believes has a big future at Old Trafford.
The Englishman spoke of his future earlier this season, admitting he would be tempted to move away from north London should he fail to secure regular game time.

While he is far from a regular in Wenger’s starting XI, he has made 32 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring six times but had made just 10 Premier League starts.
The report claims that Arsenal remain interested in Chris Smalling and that any deal for Oxlade-Chamberlain could involve the defender heading to the Emirates.
Injuries and a loss of form mean Smalling has made just nine Premier League starts for Manchester United this season with the defender also coming in for criticism from Mourinho for a perceived unwillingness to play through the pain barrier.
The Red Devils are also well stocked for forwards with Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata and Marcus Rashford all on the books and there is no guarantee Oxlade-Chamberlain would see any more game time at Old Trafford than he does at the Emirates.
