Arsenal have added Danny Welbeck, Per Mertesacker and Yaya Sanogo to their squad for the Champions League which resumes with a round of 16 clash against Bayern Munich.
All clubs that have reached the knockout stages are allowed to add an extra three players with Welbeck and Mertesacker now fit again and in contention for Arsene Wenger’s side.
Sanogo is also included, which is something of a surprise, seeing as he has not featured this season and with Wenger admitting recently he had suffered an injury but refusing to divulge the nature or the severity of the problem.
Arsenal have made room in their squad by omitting Chuba Akpom, Krystian Bielik, Kaylen Hinds, Stephy Mavididi, Tyrell Robinson, Marc Bola, Aaron Eyoma and Gedion Zelalem who were all allowed to leave the club on loan in January.
Also excluded is Carl Jenkinson who was also expected to depart in January but saw a proposed move to Crystal Palace fall through.
Arsenal resume their quest for European glory on February 15 with a trip to Allianz Arena to take on Bayern with the second leg at the Emirates March 7.
